About Us
Welcome to Rock of Ages Welfare Initiative, a non-governmental organisation unwaveringly and reliably dedicated to making a positive impact in the communities of Uganda in the heart of Africa. We are steadfast in our mission to help and transform Uganda’s vulnerable and needy children in several districts, ensuring families and communities can thrive. Focusing on Kisoro, Kampala, Isingiro, Jinja, Mbale and Nakasongola Districts, our organisation promotes evangelism, provides charitable services to vulnerable children, youth, and women, and offers educational support to needy children through scholarships.
At Rock of Ages Welfare Initiative, we deeply understand the importance of sustainable livelihood and environmental conservation in the communities we serve. This deep understanding is the foundation of our work. This is why we also engage in activities aimed at restoring the ecological nature of the environment through tree-planting initiatives. By encouraging self-sustenance, we aim to promote sustainable livelihoods and uplift communities.
What we do
Evangelism
Rock of Ages Welfare Initiative is built on a strong Christian foundation, and we believe in God, the creator of heaven and earth and the Father of us all. We believe in Jesus Christ, the son of God, who lived on earth among men, died and raised again to life. We believe in the gospel of love, reconciliation, and hope and that God has the final say in any situation. With this confidence and assurance, we endeavour to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ to the communities we go to, bringing hope and joy into the lives of the people we touch.
Scholarships to people in need
We provide educational support to underprivileged children whose families struggle to provide education and educational materials. Many children in these areas drop out of school to start earning for the family at a very young age, which sometimes leads them to engage in immoral acts like theft, drug abuse, and begging, among others. We believe in encouraging education, which is fundamental for the young generation to excel in the future. We focus on eradicating illiteracy, providing quality education, and creating confidence among people experiencing poverty for a better future.
Providing charitable services to vulnerable children, youth, and women
For several years, the founders of the Rock of Ages Welfare Initiative have been giving school necessities to children from needy families and relief in terms of food and clothes to those who are hungry and in need. They have been actively helping the widows and orphans and training them to weave and bake to earn a living and support their families.
Sensitising Communities about Climate Change and Mitigation
As stewards of creation, we are summoned to care for people and the planet. Psalm 104 celebrates God’s creation – the sun, the moon, and the seasons – all intricately woven together, and our role is to honour this divine masterpiece and protect it tirelessly. Imagine Noah; he built an ark to save life from destruction by the flood. Our modern ark is sustainable practices, conservation, and responsible resource management. We are committed to keeping God’s masterpiece thriving for future generations. As co-labourers of God, we are called to mitigate harm through planting trees and advocating for policies that honour creation.
